o'korn???

Spencer Brinton v 2.0?

Brinton had talent (as does O'Korn, by the sounds of things) And QB (and DL and OL) are positions where it's not necessarily bad to stockpile talent.

Brinton very rarely played back in his day, but there was still value to him being on the roster.

The blog says Wisconsin, Miami, Syracuse, Florida, and Texas were...

interested. I'm guess Harbs knows what he's doing.

Lost his job to s soph in 2014, then transferred when Tom Herman was hired

Herman runs an offense requiring a dual threat QB. O'Korn is not a dual threat QB. Coupled with the fact that he is a junior who lost his job last year to a dual threat soph, he transferred.

At Stanford Harbaugh had 8 QB's on his roster. He's not going to be caught with his pants down like we were at Nebraska with the Bellomy debacle. On top of that, we won't see a situation like we had this year where the starter gets essentially benched and the backup is completely ineffective. He's going to have his QB's, and his QB's are going to play well, or it's next man up.

Re: Lost his job to s soph in 2014, then transferred when Tom Herman was hired

Yeah it's a weird situation, because his freshman numbers were pretty insane for a freshman. Gotta wonder what happened.

He lost the QB job when Houston started 2-3, had a lot of interceptions

Greg Ward started the next week against Memphis and led Houston to the upset. Houston finished 6-2 with Ward under center, including a bowl win over Pittsburgh.

When Tom Herman was hired from Ohio State, I think O'Korn realized he had no role because Herman will run a spread and needs a dual threat.

you have now already recruited an experienced qb for the 2016 class. thats harbaugh.

Re: He lost the QB job when Houston started 2-3, had a lot of interceptions

Yeah, I get that. My point was he put up pretty stellar numbers as a freshman, and then not so much as a sophomore. Clearly his performance got him benched, but why did his performance regress?

We're not relying on him to start, so at the very least he's a backup, at best he proves he can play closer to his freshman #'s than his sophomore #'s.

It would not shock me if Morris decides to leave Michigan after this summer...O'Korn will likely sit out next year but clearly JH is probably not impressed with the roster he has.

what would be the reason you would say that? you have no idea what is going on and i would think at this point every qb knows they have an equal and fair chance at the job. plus do you expect harbaugh to not recruit anymore?

just my opinion - no scientific theory behind it. Morris did not perform well last year and we have 3 new QBs coming in. The QB position under Hoke was a joke from Day 1 and sometimes a clean slate can be a good thing. Don't have a valid reason other then - "it would not shock me". And because of transfer rules O'Korn will have to sit out (I imagine).

No question - we have not had a good QB on our roster since Henne especially for the type of offense he wants to run. I am not convinced Morris is as great as his HS rankings but only time will tell.

We'll call him O'Maize ... *

Re: looks like he'll probly be the starter (IAP)...

upon further review, o'Korns stats aren't that great. he has a lot more experience but SHane coud probly beat this kid out.

I truly believe we don't really know anything about Morris at this point...good or bad. I am in the camp that Hoke's coaching was completely ineffective and we can't make any definitive statements about Morris at this point. As bad as we looked last year against Kansas State in the bowl game I thought the one bright spot was Morris in his only start as a true freshman. Morris certainly has a strong arm and has the moxy you like to see in a QB. Let's see how he develops under Harbaugh before writing him off. It wouldn't surprise me if he ended up a good QB in the Big Ten.

Re: looks like he'll probly be the starter (IAP)...

The kid played at St Thomas Aquinas with Joey Bosa in his face every play...was FL Offensive Player of the Year...Let's see what he can do....it's worth the risk. Sounds like Fisch and JH went after him.
