Off-topic, but has anybody been to Turkey?

So thinking about going to Istanbul, Cappadocia, and perhaps the beach. I will be traveling with my family of five. So is it safe? Is it safe for kids? Is it easy to drive from Place to Place? I get better travel advice from this board than any forum on the Internet. So I appreciate if you have any insight
