to compete/win with against
1. MSU
2. OSU
3. Alabama (Playoff Contenders) throw in above if you want or add ND, etc.
1. I think UM is at the level needed to compete and win against MSU. Not saying it actually happens but I think UM has the necessary talent to compete/win. I did factor that Chesson and Butt are returning.
2. Against OSU. I think UM is somewhat close but OSU is replacing a lot of guys. I still think going forward UM is still another class away plus development/maturity. I think UM gets pretty even level talent going forward but in all honesty I think UM still doesn't have the same level playmakers but expect that to change after 2 years of classes.
Not saying UM can't win but not on a level playing field. Talk to me after the 2017 class and half way through the season.
3. Now...I think UM is 2+ years away. OSU is basically Alabama talent wise but I still believe Alabama is 3 deep at every position. Now...do you need to be 3 deep at every position to win? No but it doesn't hurt. I also believe Alabama gets a level of guy that is higher than you even see right now with this class in most positions. I don't think you need to have the highest rated recruit but to beat Alabama you need lots and lots of upper class talent and UM is probably 3 years away.
Thoughts?
