In what was a bullpen day for M, they played Kent State on Tuesday winning 6-4 in 11 innings.

Despite using 9 pitchers, the game had some late inning dramatics.

KSU took an early lead in the third, but M tied it up at 2 a piece in the bottom of the 4th. Eventually KSU chipped away and scored single runs in the top of the 8th and 9th to take a 4-2 lead.

M only had 3 hits entering the bottom of the 9th, but managed to get a guy on base with two outs. Mitch Voit came up as a pinch hitter and proceeded to hit a two run homer to knot the score at 4 a piece.

Brandon Mann entered the game to start the top of the 10th. To say he was a bit rusty may be an understatement as he walked two, hit a batter and threw 2 wild pitches, Smith made a trip to the mound in the middle of the inning with two men on but decided to leave Mann in. He walked another but with the bases loaded and two outs he got the KSU batter to line out to first base to prevent any runs from scoring.

Mann paid back Smith's faith in the 11th getting KSU 1-2-3 in the top of the frame.

In the 11th, many thought Voit may have ended the game as he flew out to the warning track in right which looked like it could have been a home run if not for the wind holding up the ball just enough. Michigan managed to get another runner on base in the 11th and with two outs again, Stephen Hrustich came up and proceeded to hit one over the Fenway like wall in Left for a walk-off two run homer.

Winner-Winner chicken Dinner as M won 6-4 with Mann notching his first win of the season.

M starts a three game series at MSU this Friday in a key series. Michigan is one game out of 1st place in the B1G standings with a 10-5 record.
