Anyone athlete who played on a winning team before knows you will have strong leaders and super competitive guys on it. The problem with Michigan and the past few years of recruiting is that these are all nice guys. Everybody on the team is a nice guy. That's good and bad. I would imagine these kids all have great gpa's and come from great families and talk really nice to each other.
I have yet to read about any tempers flaring in practices this year or the past couple years. That shows there's not a competitive edge going on in practice. Games are won with difficult and highly competitive practices and kids going at each other. We need to see more animosity from players in games and hearing about it in practices. Too many nice guys on this team and culture. Guys complaining about playing time? yeah that comes up all the time along with transfer portal.
A good team that has real true competitors/dogs on it will often have one fight or flare up each day or at least once per week. You watch NFL and those men get to that level cause they are downright nasty competitors and the practices are full of fights and flareups. The weak teams everyone is nice to each other and goes out and gets destroyed by more competive players.
Not saying this should be like a prison yard but cmon where's the aggression and will to win and compete on this team? Go watch the OSU vs Penn State game last year and you see a near fight breakout almost every play. Trash talk is cheap but you could see the aggression and competitive mean streak those players had.
Devin bush was a competitor with the stormtrooper encounter in 2018 but he's gone.
