okay, several reasons, but besides the JH tutledge, I think that unlike at old Miss, he has regularly been coached to NOT try and win the game on his own shoulders. We have not needed that kind of superhero effort and thus, he has not felt the need to reach beyond his reasonable limits. Let me be clearer...I sense that he is producing at about 85% of his reasonable capability- a lot of us sense that we could cut him loose a bit MORE in (a) slinging it downfield, AND
(b) more running, which we all know he has shown excellent capability.
I think JH is trying (a) to minimize interceptions, ergo turnovers, and (b) minimize potential injury to this special QB for which there is NO equal replacement !
I suspect that in the second half of the tOSu game, JH will allow Shea to run more (if needed) and we will see the open playbook that we have NOT NEEDED thus far.
I think that only some really rotten weather will slow down an open playbook in C-bus.
It will be interesting to see how Shea handles some potentially really frosty weather in AA, against IU. I think it will be really low key, with Shea playing only one half if we can get significantly up on IU by half.
