Just one man's observations of five UM hockey commits in one game:

Joe Cecconi right shooting defenseman, Muskegon Lumberjack 6-2 205

Tall and gangly looking; mostly stayed at home but did make one impressive offensive rush eluding several opponents; best attribute: very calm and confident handling the puck in his own zone; good, quick moves handling puck as well; made nearly every outlet pass successfully; big body in front of net, not overly physical, but did take a minor for "laying the lumber"; played first pk and not afraid of lugging the puck if no obvious pass was open.

Cooper Marody right shooting center, Muskegon Lumberjacks 6-0 177

Very quick and agile, but couldn't finish in this game; nifty with the puck; struggled finding his offensive stride; although clearly strong on his skates and deft with the puck, told friends post-game that he played 'horribly' as I waited to speak with him.

William Lockwood right shooting right wing, NTDP U-17 5-10 151

Flat out speed on skates; used that speed to create a breakaway that he couldn't finish; taken advantage of physically on the occasional times that an opponent could catch his slippery manner.

Nick Pastujov left shooting left wing, NTDP U-17 6-0 195

Very light on his skates; lightning quickness; very mobile and effortless in movement; not afraid to engage opponents in a chippy, physical manner.

James Sanchez left shooting right wing NTDP U-17 6-1 176

Played larger than his size; average skating speed and mobility, but was one of the more effective forwards for the U-17 team in all three zones; displayed high hockey IQ.
