Observations...
1) MSU basically dominated this game...put almost 600 yds of offense on them.
2) Big plays were the story...LONG passing TDs and longest run in MSU history 94 yds by Walker.
3) MSU's offensive line is huge...and they're starting 3 seniors I believe...or two seniors and one junior.
4) MSU DLine was getting pressure all 2nd half.
5) Rutgers did not play well overall...especially on offense...they had 2 or 3 1st downs inside the 10 and came away with 2 field goals and one 4th down failure. I do credit MSU's defense to a degree, but Rutgers execution in the red zone was terrible.
6) Defensively Rutgers allowing huge big plays killed them...and their open field tackling was awful...at least 5 missed tackles on the long Walker run.
MSU has 2 or 3 good WRs...two of whom are seniors...Nailor and Reed. Walker is an excellent RB...and their QB Thorne does a good job.
I'm not into game to game comparisons because...Every. Game. Is. Different. But this game was a game of big plays for MSU and missed opportunities for Rutgers. Next...
