I was at the Pylon 7v7 tournament in Dallas today. Here are a few recruiting notes.

*** Rivals100 wide receiver Quaydarius Davis is ranked as the No. 21 overall recruit in the country and might be the best prospect at his position in 2021. Davis does not have a Michigan offer but would like one. He recently backed out of his verbal pledge to Texas and wants to take a more national approach to his recruitment. Davis plays for Dallas (Texas) Skyline, and that coaching staff is home to former DeSoto (Texas) High assistant Jason Garrett, who played a big role in the recruitments on Michigan defensive backs German and Gemon Green. Davis told me Garrett has reached out to Michigan on his behalf on multiple occasions and has gotten no response. By the way, Davis is a childhood friend of five-star 2021 running back target Camar Wheaton, and the two are very close. This is a no brainer offer.

*** Speaking of Wheaton, he did not play in the tournament today, but I did have a chance to talk to some people close to his recruitment. Like I mentioned yesterday, Wheaton is getting ready to cut his list, and I fully expect Michigan to make it. UM running backs coach Jay Harbaugh has been in consistent contact with Wheaton, and obviously, the Wolverines hosted him for a visit this summer. One source close to Wheaton told me that he is 'confused and isn't sure what he wants yet.' Wheaton doesn't plan to make a decision until December, and I get the sense that he's not afraid to leave the South, especially with a ton of question marks at Texas. Alabama, Oklahoma, Ohio State and Notre Dame are some other schools I believe are squarely in the mix.

*** One prospect in the Lone Star State that I would like to see Michigan offer is 2021 Rivals250 cornerback Ishmael Ibraheem. The four-star prospect from Dallas (Texas) Kimball was born in Detroit and still has a lot of family living in Michigan. If the Wolverines jump in the mix, Ibraheem told me it would be a school that he would love to visit thanks to his ties to the state. Michigan isn't in it for a lot of top level corners for next cycle, so this one makes sense. Ibraheem is a tall, rangy corner and smart kid in the classroom. Notre Dame and USC just offered and with Texas losing its CB coach, his recruitment is wide open.

*** Michigan shot out an early offer to elite 2022 Fort Worth (Texas) Nolan Catholic running back Emeka Megwa and got him on campus for a visit over the summer for The Big House BBQ. I caught up with Megwa today, and he told me he absolutely loved his time on campus. He enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and spending time with the coaches. Megwa has kept in contact with the aforementioned Jay Harbaugh and is looking to return to Ann Arbor for another visit this offseason, Megwa told me Michigan is high on his list along with Clemson, LSU and Duke.
