Michigan held an intrasquad scrimmage Friday night. Here’s what we’ve picked up …

The Blue team, with Franz Wagner, Eli Brooks, Hunter Dickinson, Adrien Nunez and Brandon Johns, beat the Maize team with Isaiah Livers, Chaundee Brown, Mike Smith, Austin Davis and Zeb Jackson. They handled them quite well, in fact, but 10 or so. The score was in the upper 70s low 80s, which is where head coach Juwan Howard wants it.

Dickinson scored on an array of post moves, 14 in the first half on the way to 17 points. He has developed a nice little hook shot, and he scored over Davis quite a bit.

Davis had some nice post moves and finishes, as well, scoring 10 points before fouling out.

Wagner was dominant. He got to the rim at will, including against Isaiah Livers, and finished with 26 points, including a triple.

Livers made three, three-pointers in a row at one point and finished with about 14. He had trouble guarding Wagner.

Brooks and Smith went at each other. Smith is “really quick,” got into the lane and hit some floaters. Brooks played well, too, finishing with 14 points.

Chaundee Brown is “jacked.” He made four of seven triples and had another bucket, as well, for 14 points. That’s encouraging given that shooting isn’t supposed to be his strong suit.

Brandon Johns was relatively quiet, made a couple buckets inside. Freshman Jace Howard made a pair of three-pointers and threw down a dunk.

Frosh Zeb Jackson had a couple of nice pull-ups off screens, free throw line extended, nd also hit a three-pointer. He showed no fear, scoring seven points in the first half.

Frosh Terrance Williams was a bit quiet, but he also saw some time.

All in all … a pretty good showing for a lot of guys.

More ... Brandon Johns was much better than we heard initially. 6-of-10, 14 points, seven rebounds. No three-point attempts. All in 30 minutes. He was also a plus-20, team-best, for the Blue team.

Dickinson played 33 minutes, also have five rebounds and four fouls, two assists.

Brooks was 7-for-11, made his only triple and scored 18 points before fouling out. He was plus-18 and had three assists.

Wagner actually had two triples in five attempts and added eight rebounds. Crazy enough, he only finished plus-six.

Terrance Williams was 1-for-5 and had four points, but he also pulled down a game-best 10 rebounds.

Adrien Nunez went 2-for-6 in 27 minutes but 0-for-3 from long distance, finishing with five points.

On the Maize team, Livers went 5-for-11, 3-for-7 on threes, and finished with 14 points, nine rebounds and six assists. He also went a team-worst minus-22 in plus/minus.

Davis was 6-for-8 from the floor, 12 points and four rebounds before fouling out and was minus-one.

Jackson was 3-for-8 in 25 minutes, 1-for-2 from three-point range, but didn't have an assist and notched one rebound, went minus-17.

Smith was 6-of-14, 2-for-2 on triples, 14 points, four rebounds, three assists, minus-8.

Brown 6-of-15, 4-of-7 triples, 16 points, six rebounds, minus-11, 37 minutes.

Jace Howard, 29 minutes, 3-for-7, 2-for-5 on triples, eight points, two rebounds.

****

Our initial post ...

we'll have more details tomorrow morning (we hope), but we can tell you that Franz Wagner was dominant. Got to the rim at will. 24-plus probably. A high-scoring affair, probably in the high 70s low 80s.

Chaundee Brown made a bunch of triples, and that's not supposed to be his forte. Mike Smith and Eli Brooks went at each other and both scored about 10 - Smith a couple floaters in the lane off the dribble. A nice showing for Zeb Jackson, too, who shined with his pull-up jumper off screens.

Hunter Dickinson is a stud. Really nice little hook developing. Austin Davis battled him ... think he fouled out.

Jace Howard - a couple three-pointers and a dunk.

Again, hope to have more tomorrow. But some good stuff out there.
