Talked for about 10 min and of course I asked him about the Michigan rumor. He said he wasn't interested at all after Hoke was fired but he was really interested in 07. Said Schiano turned us down (I thought that was false but he was adamant about it) and Martin went hard after Rich Rod so Payton backed off. He was a super cool dude and was legit interested back 10 years ago. I wonder how different things would have been had Martin not completely botched the search. Go Preds great night in Nashville.
