Matt Norlander had an interest nugget re: the NIT being moved to Indianapolis

In short, he suggested that the NCAA may move the NIT to Indianapolis this season (NYC has said no) and cut the field to 16 teams.

What's interesting though is that he wrote that the NIT teams could be used to backfill the tournament if teams have to opt out due to COVID.

One has to think that the NIT will struggle to get any teams to participate this season. However, dangling the carrot of potentially being called up to the NCAA tournament if circumstances break right may cause some big names to opt into the NIT (Duke, MSU, etc.).

One can imagine the conspiracy theories if Duke or some other big name magically get called up to the NCAA tournament because some school is forced to opt out due to COVID.
