Arguably MSU's best returning player, Mason Appleton, has signed an entry level contract with the Winnipeg Jets, foregoing his final two years as a Spartan.

I mention that here because I expect more and more early departures, not fewer.

Crazy stat. After he left I looked up their top returning scorer and found it was a kid who had 24 points as a freshman, which was their top freshman since 09-10, which seems crazy. Michigan has had 11 freshmen beat that point total over that span. Yikes.

I thought that Hirose, Saliba and Khoderenko were good for freshmen. Cupboard may not be as bare as one would think.

He's not a miracle worker, but I believe in Cole's ability to rebuild the MSU program.

They will, they given unlimited amount of leash to a number of their perennial last place programs like swimming, softball, etc.
