Just my idea, but: I'd say drop the divisions, go to PODS and bring in UVA & FSU.

These PODS could distribute parity more evenly.....

SE: FSU, UVA, Rutgers PSU - FSU & PSU will be tough, if Rutgers improve, spoiler alert & UVA can always improve.
East: U-M, Maryland, MSU, Indiana - Will always be a blood bath with how U-M & Sparty HATE each other.
Mid West: OSU, Purdue, Wisky, ILL - Reasonably tough if Wisky is good.
West: Neb, Minn, Iowa, NW - could be a tough pod if Neb, Minny ^ IOWA are good.

Possible U-M schedule: MD, MSU, Indy, FSU, Rutgers, OSU, ILL, NW, OSU.
Everyone has one permanente crossover rival.

This could work, would need Wisky to be good again.
This would spread out the better programs at 2
per pod. Play all three in your pod and the 2 from
each of the other pods for a 9 game conference schedule.
This should promote all sell out games for each B1G
program and bring competition for everyone.

Then have the two best B1G teams play for the Conf. Championship.
