Houston (Texas) Alief Elsik linebacker Dontavious Jackson will announce his college commitment on Signing Day, and the Wolverines will have a proverbial hat on the table for the four-star.
Alabama, Florida, Florida State, and Texas are the other finalists for the 6-2, 238-pounder, who is ranked the No. 9 inside linebacker nationally and the No. 38 senior in Texas. Jackson visited Ann Arbor for an unofficial visit to the Spring game in April, and returned (along with teammate Chris Brown) for an official visit to the Ohio State game Nov. 28.
The Wolverines need to close their linebacker class strong, with early enrollee Devin Bush Jr. and Alabama three-star Dytarious Johnson in the fold, but an outgoing senior group that includes all three 2015 starters to replace on the roster.
