Yesterday, 2024 four-star defensive end Jacob Smith informed M&BR that he will be making his commitment on July 13. He's a guy that has been trending towards an announcement since early July, now we will have some finality to his recruitment process.
What does this mean for Michigan, however? I've asked around to get a better feel for where things stand.
At this point, 24 hours before the announcement, I feel confident that the Wolverines are going to be the choice. I have yet to receive anything concrete that will allow me to say that this is a lock but, reading the tea leaves and asking people in and out of Ann Arbor has me feeling good about where this one is headed.
I will update you if I get anything more concrete one way or the other.
