Michigan is the first football program to join the Nike Jordan/Jumpman Brand, which is exciting in itself. Some of the details are even more eye-opening. Plus, rumblings of a few more possibly serious injuries.

Starting with the bad news, first. Head coach Jim Harbaugh is still in his submarine and won’t address injury rumors until he comes up for air, Michigan spokesmen tell us. That said, in addition to defensive tackle Bryan Mone (broken lower leg, out for the year), we’ve heard two others might have suffered serious injuries in practice – a freshman who was in the mix to play at a position of need on offense and an H-back who had been searching for a position.

Two different sources have confirmed the injuries, but we don’t know the severity and won’t comment until we do.

Now the good news – according to a well-placed source, Michigan will be full Jordan brand for basketball. Not Nike - strictly Jordan. With Football, rumblings (as of now) are that yes, Michigan will be the first Jordan school and have cleats, gloves, gear like that, but will still feature the swoosh on the jersey. However, there will also be a "Jordan alternate jersey" each year that will be strictly Jordan brand.

That might have changed in the last month, but again, the plan has been that football would Nike with Jordan accessories. We don’t have any further details, but we are working on it.

Finally, word has it that Jordan is working on a deal to bring a store to downtown Ann Arbor. Obviously this is a big deal for the city as there are only tow stores right now (New York and Chicago).

We’ll have more details as we get them.
