Is it possible a later schedule might actually help the Big Ten Champion if they were to make the playoffs?

Many times the season ends, there's that loooong lay off before the playoffs, and some teams can get a little rusty. If the SEC and Clemson are sitting and waiting for the playoffs while the Big Ten is still playing every week, what are your thoughts on that?
Advantage? Neutral? or Detriment to the Big Ten if one was to qualify for playoffs?

Update, I just checked the schedule.....looks like SEC and Clemson only stop playing one week earlier....so there goes that idea.
