I just watched the latest Beilein interview and he said Wilson is finally 100%, almost implying he's gonna start playing again. Seems with 11 games left I'm not sure its worth it, although maybe gaining some more experience is worth burning the redshirt thinking about next year with no recruits coming. I sure hope Duncan Robinson turns out to be a surprise and LeVert stays, otherwise next year is gonna be another rough one.

I think JB is on the record saying he wants to redshirt Wilson (recent)..

and it clearly isn't worth it now.

At this point I would much prefer to see Wilson redshirt. The team is not going to be do any signficant this year and we are already more than halfway thru the season. I'm hoping they have Wilson on a high calorie/protein diet and have him working out like a madman in the weight room. We need him bigger and stronger going into next season to be an impact player. It would be a complete waste to blow his redshirt at this point.

I agree, RM. I'm hoping Chatman is simply taking a little longer than normal to acclimate to this level of basketball because at this point he is not looking close to a big time contributor. That can certainly change and hopefully it will but we are on the backside of our schedule and he still is not producing much at all. I really think Wilson can be a difference maker with some added strength and bulk.

They're not all going to pan out

But MAAR and Dawkins are both going to be players.

I'll go out on a limb and say MAAR should be getting a lot of Spike's minutes right now (and I have been a big Spike fan) as he van get to the rim seemingly at will. He also has a pull up two game and can hit the three.

UM will be just fine next year.

I would burn the redshirt and have him come off the bench as a backup forward or center position instead of Chatman or Donnal. I believe he can play 18-20 min a game and provide us with good rebounding and defense. If he gets a 5th year there is no guarantee that he stays ( see Horford). His experience playing this year will only help him improve for next year.
