I make this thread because I think tonight's games are a great lesson in perspective for a college basketball season. Couple of results that are interesting:
-Purdue loses at home to OSU
-Minnesota goes on the road and beats Iowa, leading by double digits much of the 2nd half
Michigan lost at Minnesota last week, and it's a game they should have won (I want to make that clear). But Minnesota battled and won the game in OT. That loss seemed to bring out a lot of complaining amongst Michigan fans. Later in the week, Michigan won an ugly game at home to a NW team that came in and played tough.
Purdue, who had one of the most impressive wins of the Big Ten so far (@ Oregon last game), blows a steady lead and loses at home. They led by 16 midway through the 1st half, and by 13 at the half. And blew a double digit lead to a 10-8 OSU team....at home. Minnesota, IMO, is much better than the first 5-6 conference games they played. We'll know for sure as the conference slate plays out, but they look like a very solid team. (Side note: I'd love to get their big - Frank Mitchell - in the portal. Really impressive kid)
College basketball is a long season, and there are going to be clunky games from any team. While I don't like to see the guys lose, I think many people are missing the proper perspective here. These things happen, and the 2 results tonight are a great example of that. I hope that Dusty and staff can use last week to help us longer term (and I think they will).
Should be a really interesting game Friday night!
