Here we are again discussing Michigan and Jim Harbaugh's contract. I noted here in another thread that, at some point, we have to stop discussing the contract talks and redirect our efforts to the NFL because it's clear that's where Harbaugh's focus is right now with his second interview with the Chargers.
There's a stall in negotiations because the focus is not on the deal with Michigan, it's exploring his NFL options.
Either way, U-M is still trying to keep Harbaugh around.
I'd like to point out that money has never been the issue here. The financial part had been agreed upon a long time ago, there was always something new to pop up when it comes to the verbiage in his contract.
I am working on trying to figure out the finer details but I believe that some further concessions have been made, just exactly what those are, I am unsure of. All I have heard is that U-M has been "creative" to make it work, according to one source. What that creativity is, we'll ultimately find out if it gets across the finish line.
Either way, the discussion of making him the highest-paid coach in CFP and all that is only sweetening the pot, it won't be the ultimate difference-maker here, especially with his NFL desires that are abundantly clear.
Will continue to dig around to see what else I can find out.
