As of right now, I am told that Toledo DB coach Corey Parker is one name on a 'very short list' of candidates for the job. He's the only name I have confirmed to have spoken with Sherrone Moore.
Contact continued to pick up over the weekend, as Moore and Parker spoke again on Sunday.
Right now, it's wait-and-see for Parker.
For U-M, there isn't much more that needs to be proven for Parker, either. His coaching references have been glowing from across the country, they're very aware of his interest in the job and his football acumen and his ability to develop talent is something that resonates with the program. There's a chance he could have two first-round defensive backs taken in the draft.
I don't think he will have to wait long for a final decision, as we've said here that he is a popular choice with the players on top of high school programs in Detroit.
I haven't been able to confirm he's U-M's top target for the job but the way things have been discussed, it certainly feels like Moore is operating like he is.
More when I have it.
