I have gratitude that there is a season this year in the midst of the covid disease killing people in the world. I wish more people would take that approach and not be so dog gone negative on here - the mental health of everyone is being damaged and destroyed by these so called "fans."
My story: My life is boring/lonely and not much going on - in actuality, I have nothing else so I pour my heart and soul into watching the team play each week. I read everything I can on this site, on twitter, on the national wire during the week. I watch all the youtube videos, listen to mutliple podcasts each day. I am totally invested in this team.
On Friday nights I get so excited that it's hard to sleep. I look forward to waking up Saturday in anticipation of the game - it feels like xmas morning during the season. I wake up very early 5am, take a walk with my dog and pray. I start to scan twitter to see which players are suited up and what late breaking news is there to give me hints on the game. Just maybe , just maybe I hope they can play well and win the game. When team wins (ie Minnesota) - I feel so darn good it's like a drug or a feeling of contentment / extreme fulfillment.
When each game starts I have the game thread on with my iphone while I stand and watch 2 feet away from the TV so I can see the numbers of the players and where they are lined up. It's like I'm actually in the game because I'm so invested with these players and coaches. I try to "like" every post I see on the game thread that expresses what I feel as well. I cheer and yell when the team does great (wilson td, johnson td, bell td) and throw things when they screw up (all drop, gray PI, hawkins drop). I enjoy reading threads cause there is some very witty and intelligent people on the Fort. There are also some dumb af people too.
Bottom line, I live for this team. I get very unhappy when I see all the negative guys (you know who you are) who love to point out how bad every coach and player is and how this team sucks and db sucks and harbaugh sucks. It's really a downer and no fun to read. I read it all anyway.
My point is that there's a revelatory book called "the Secret" which says if you put out negative thoughts and emotions they will eventually will come true. The more people who do that the more likely it will occur. However if we get good people on here to put out good thoughts and visions of team playing well it will also manifest itself...I wonder if people will be willing to do this? Doesn't everyone on here want to experience that happiness of winning on Saturdays? There is nothing quite like it in life.
