There aren't many related to the coaching staff, and I'd likely trade IU for their staff straight up at this point, but I do think we saw some positive things from the players today.
- The Milton hype is real. He's not perfect or fully polished right now but he is the type of QB who can lead your team to a conference title. I made the Navarre comparison a while ago and I like it. He's much more athletic but has similar arm talent. I think you could see him take a similar career trajectory too. There will be some growing pains this year but the hype was real.
- I like our group of WRs. Today was a bit of a coming-out party for Johnson and I think he has a bright future. Ronnie Bell is consistent, plays hard, and is turning into a winner. Wilson, Henning, and Jackson all have a lot of physical talent and speed. They have the potential to be game-breakers. I like the idea of these WRs and Milton building chemistry together over the next 2-3 seasons.
- Despite the lack of yardage today I like our RBs. Corum looks good and should get the majority of the touches going forward. Haskins is really good at finding ways to fall forward and avoid losses, and Charbonnet is good in pass pro and catching the ball out of the backfield. Again, I think these are guys you can win with going forward. This might seem crazy right now but I think we guys who can grow into championship level skill talent. I'm not sure about the offensive line or staff but there are some pieces there.
- Dax Hill is a stud.
