Battle is somehow a bad guy for committing to UM to lock up a spot. Smart on his part that UM took the bait.
This is the game of recruiting. I don't have any problem with a kid who likes a school and is playing a game with other recruits to land at their choice destination. You have to ask yourself well then why is UM recruiting a few guys simultaneously and then once Battle decides to 're-open' then they have Cumberland visit.
It's all part of the recruiting game. UM and JB aren't stupid. This is high risk poker with other fine suitors. Kids decommit all the time. Burke...remember him? LeVERT...yes he still decomitted but had a good reason just like Battle had his own personal change of heart.
I refuse to feign outrage in this scenario. It was done very early so UM can get another guy so I wish him well. Plus, I like Cumberland and the non one and done guys.
