Instead of doing multiple posts, I decided to combine the notes I have picked up and include them in one big update piece. I have picked up some recruiting intel and the latest on the football program's portal pursuits.

Let's get started.

Cole Sullivan

Heavy buzz started to emanate out of Pennsylvania yesterday surrounding 2024 linebacker Cole Sullivan who is close to a decision. After talking to multiple sources including inside our network and a coach close to Sullivan, it's believed that he is down to Michigan and Notre Dame. He values education and both options certainly check that box.

I am not quite ready to place a FutureCast prediction in yet for Sullivan but if I were to guess today, I'd say he picks the Wolverines.

A coach close to Sullivan believes he's a versatile player that could play on both sides of the ball if needed. He could play tight end, he could play H-back on offense. On defense, we obviously know that he can play linebacker but the source also said that he could potentially grow into a defensive end, which our @Trevor McCue astutely pointed out to me in a conversation yesterday. The conversation I had with the coach took place today. So it wouldn't be a surprise if he's a take at linebacker and has the potential to switch positions later down the line depending on how he develops.

Jacob Smith

The Michigan staff believes that Jacob Smith will eventually end up following up his brother, Jerod, to Michigan. He is likely going to go through the process and has made it clear he isn't in any rush to shut down his recruitment process. Michigan is one of three programs that has an official visit set up (I am trying to confirm whether it's this month or next) along with Nebraska and Kentucky.

This line of thinking makes sense for a variety of reasons, especially if you look at it from a historical lens. I can't remember the last time twin brothers did not end up in the same program during a recruiting cycle. The Green twins are a classic example of that

Again, not ready to make an official prediction just yet but things look to be on the right track there.

Channing Goodwin

Michigan wide receiver target, and legacy recruit, Channing Goodwin announced today that he would be making his college announcement on Sunday.

All signs are pointing to him following his high school quarterback, Jadyn Davis, to Ann Arbor.

Speaking of Davis...

Jadyn Davis

I know a lot of talk has been made about rumors that 2025 QB Cutter Boley could reclassify to the 2024 class. While that rumor has persisted, I am NOT (the emphasis is intentional) expecting Michigan to push there as Davis is clear QB1 in the class and I am of the belief that opinion has been shared with the family.

I shared this opinion in our Subscriber Chat but it would be a bit of a loss for U-M if Boley did reclass, as he would've been an excellent take for the 2025 class. Even so, it's onward for the Wolverines who have other excellent options to compete for if the reclassification happens.

Michigan offers portal DB

Michigan extended an offer to Louisiana CB Trey Amos yesterday, who is currently in the portal.

The expectation there is that he will be ending up staying in the south but the Wolverines will give it their best shot. I have been told in passing that adding depth at corner and potentially wide receiver could be an option for the program before the season and it's looking like they're at least looking into one of the two positions. I think any move they would make would be for veteran depth purposes, especially at receiver as Michigan is pretty young outside of guys like Cornelius Johnson and Roman Wilson.

---

That's all I have for now. More when I can get it.
