The constant talk about how to distribute minutes, who (on defense) is a 2 vs a 3 vs a 4 got me thinking about defensive specialization. I'm just spit-balling here, but if a guy like Duncan Robinson plays 18 minutes per game, could his existence on the court allow for M to play a particular zone better than another or better than man?

Clearly there are different offensive plays you may run more than others based on your personnel. I'd like to think certain man to man deficiencies vs zone concepts on D will allow M to better minimize total defensive points per possession.

No different than Blake Countess being better in zone coverage than man to man. Why not tailor base defenses to the players as opposed to flow or "changing it up"?

That said, who are our best man to man defenders relative to zone and vice versa? Spike? Robinson (guesswork, I know)? Chatman? MAAR? Are anybody these guys far more suited to one than the other?
