help: I've got a low frequency hum very noticeable in center rear of house on 2 floors

The hum comes and goes.
Walking around outside leads us to believe it originates indoors.
Ear against the wall helps with sanity check. It's real, but focused on 2 rooms.
Turning off all breakers one by one doesn't kill the sound. I don't want to throw the master.

If I had to guess, since the temp is right around 34 degrees, I would say that one of my neighbor's heat pumps is in a defrost mode and spewing lots of low frequency sound.

However... Help me here... Is it possible that this sound resonates against my house in some way that while imperceptible when out doors is very noticeable in some areas of my house.

Just saw an ad for "A Quiet Place". My wife isn't happy about this.
