I know Weber is closer to our hearts but UCLA didn't tell the kid his position coach was leaving for Atlanta AND that his major (business) was not available to undergrads. No wonder he's jaded.

UCLA doesn't have a business major for undergrads? How on earth do you become an elite university with no undergrad business major?

He committed to UGA this morning.

Re: at least thats what Smith's coach said

It's true, I looked it up. Just seems strange for a state funded public university as good as UCLA to not have a business program. I guess they figure the ones who want that degree can just choose a different UC school?

Just my guess,

but there are quite a few schools that you apply to the business school after your second year. U-M use to be that way and to a large extend still is. It generally comes down to tuition $. LSA or literature science and art colleges on university campuses want the tuition for the students as opposed to business schools getting that tuition. And since the majority of classes in the first couple of years are in LSA it makes sense for them to get that tuition. So it might be that you just can't get into the business school as a freshmen.

Having said that, they may just have a graduate program only and business majors get a degree in the LSA equivalent but with a focus or major in business, meaning it is a bachelor of science degree (BS) rather than a bachelor of business administration degree (BBA). Either way I'm pretty sure they offer some sort of educational program in business.
