Based on practices, I expect to see Copp and Compher together, same for Larkin and Hyman.

But, I should know better than to predict. We can all be surprised together.

A partial breakaway and a screen shot by Ferris State. Michigan with the balance of play, but Motte has denied them so far.

Breakaway goal on the power play. Instant analysis: a team just can't allow breakaways and odd-man rushes like Michigan has. Improved team defense was the goal. Hasn't happened in period one.

A bad line change, a turnover at the blue line, and a breakaway on a power play they probably shouldn't have had. Sweet first period. The only thing worse was the WCHA stream.

Game changing stop right there. 3-2 with momentum heading into the third and it's a game. Don't see us putting 3 past Motte in the third. Blergh.

Instant analysis after 40 minutes

Shaky team defense cost Michigan dearly early.

Overall, Michigan has clearly been the dominant team. Easy chances for Ferris and the strong goaltending of CJ Motte have been the difference in the game.

This Michigan team can really skate and Zach Werenski looks like the real deal so far.

It's really tough to learn a lot with such scrambly early October hockey. Almost looks like the two teams have not been coached in practice so far.
Oh, that's right. They haven't.
