1st Bernies buddy said they were at school and Bernie asked him if him could drive him home right after school. He wanted his buddy to meet someone. They walked in Bernies house and there was Bo sitting on Bernies couch. Bo introduced himself to our friend and they just started talking about life and football all natural like. The following week Bernie asked for another ride and this time it was Lou Holtz on the couch. Bo outrecruited Lou on that one.
2. Bernie was a freshman and was going to go out of the tunnel for the 1st time and Bo took him aside and told him ..."you've got 45 seconds to cry and you need to get in game mode we need you today". Bernie thought Bo was nuts about the crying and asked him why he would cry Bo said "everyone crys the 1st time. It's just the feeling every player gets playing their 1st game at Michigan". Bernie 3 minutes after he was on the sidelines he was still crying and the coaches were trying to calm him down so he could play.
