I prefer to think of Harbaugh as "enigmatic". I made peace with his relationship with the press a while back."ahhhh, if worms had machine guns, then birds "wouldn't" be afraid of them"
He's obviously a very good football coach, and he seems to be a very good recruiter, but is the Harbaugh we're seeing in the media an act, or is that how he really acts?
You'll understand the meaning of this at some point during ... The Game.Channeling his inner Yogi Berra? ..... but, didn't he mean to say birds "WOULD" be afraid of worms, if they had machine guns?!
You'll understand the meaning of this at some point during ... The Game.
I was just trying to understand what he was saying?!
Actually, that's the point of why he said what he did ... he wanted to get the press to think about that, instead of where they were going with a line of questioning. He's a master at getting others off their game by getting in their heads, always the competitor. Looking forward to The Game!

I don't get it. He said he wasn't sure where it came from (meaning that it could have absolutely come from the book), and that somewhere along the way he got it in his brain. He didn't say "Yeah, I made that up..."News Flash: Harbaugh makes statement and it's headline article on MSN ... he is asked if he came up with this great remark ..... Harbaugh says he's not sure if he made up the worms/machine guns deal ... "Somewhere along the way I got it in my brain."
Really???
If Worms Had Machine Guns: (My Name is John)
There's not a man alive who loves his children more than John David Hughes loves his three boys. He is in the fight of his life to find his way back to them. If Worms Had Machine Guns . . . a story of life's lessons passed down from one generation to the…

Jim is Jim. He is a weird dude, but he's 100% genuine, and what you get is exactly who he is. It's part of the reason he rubs some people the wrong way, and a big factor into why he's such a good coach. He doesn't care what other people think, hence the shirts vs skins stuff from this summer, and his hilariously insane advice about trick-or-treating. I guess quirky would be another way to describe him, but as long as he fields a good football team, I'll just laugh at things like this."ahhhh, if worms had machine guns, then birds "wouldn't" be afraid of them"

Harbaugh doesn't do eccentricity and losing...I like eccentric, actually I love it. It keeps things interesting, but it's also a two edge sword. When things are going great then it's lovable. When things aren't, it can be divisive.
That was the reason for my question regarding Harbaugh. I've known and seen people who've faked the eccentricity because it can be used to your advantage. While fake, it allows for adjustment as the situation seems necessary. Being honestly eccentric allows you to appreciate the honesty, but it becomes difficult to adjust when needed.

The best part about this stuff is he's not trying to be funny, he's serious. Between this and the "I didn't drink that candy ass 2% milk" or his tweet to Judge Judy, he's just being himself, and I find it hysterical.Link please. Edit - never mind.
“I try to advise them to get two costumes,” said Harbaugh. “To be go-getters. You can hit the neighborhood in one costume, and better to jog and to run from house-to-house, then you can get more candy than anyone else. And then come home, make a quick change into a second costume, and go hit those same houses again.”
What a guy.

Harbaugh doesn't do eccentricity and losing...
Got it, and probably why the BTN release had "would" in parenthesis. Just have fun with you...If you listen to the teleconference Harbaugh said "wouldn't", but it was obvious he meant, "would"

He said he wasn't sure if he made it up which is the same as saying it is possible he made it up ... he didn't say he didn't which leads people to believe he did ... I don't think MSN thinks as much of a story if they know he is quoting children's books
He should know if he made it up or not .... and I'm guessing he did .... it is homerism to think otherwise
I am amused by all the "eccentricity" love here ... it seems you are confusing eccentricity for being egocentric and an arse .... it's no secret ... it seems to me a lot of UM fans know this as well and frankly are proud of it not that it is surprising

Boy someone is sure upset. Honestly, who cares?? Well, besides you. Must be hard to grapple with the fact that Michigan finally is moving in the right direction again and have one of the best coaches in football leading the charge.
Denial is not just a river in Egypt, just sayingUpset?? ... Puleeze .... just pointing out what should be obvious .... sorry if that hurts some poster's feelings .... indicative by the responses
Are they moving in the right direction??? ... sure .... they only had one way to go after last year .... when you look at last year you have to wonder how they lost to all those crappy teams .... not good ones ... that was really hard to do .... no way were they going to duplicate that
So apparently all you had to do was beat BYU (with backup QB) and Northwestern at home ???? .... say that 10 times and see if it sinks in .... your back just like that ..... almost beating MSU that barely handled Western Michigan???
I don't find this hard to grapple with

Excuses, excuses, excuses. Let's keep hearing them. Your reasoning is almost as bad as OSU's schedule this year.
It's not just about who they have beaten, it's about HOW they have beaten them. And how they have played overall. The difference is amazing from last year.
Seems you are finding this terribly hard to grapple with. That's ok...it takes awhile to get over the denial.
If you guys are happy with your team that's all that matters .... there is one constant with UM fans in general ..... always .... they think their team is worse than it is when they are losing (sky is falling) and better than it is when they are winning
Funny thing is .... nobody is saying Harbaugh isn't a arse
In other news ... what's up with Peppers? ... it is a felony to knowingly pass on STD's
So cool to have an outside expert like you to give us the reality check on being a UM fan. May we call you counselor, or is that too forward? Sounds like you've had extensive, professional experience with STDs.If you guys are happy with your team that's all that matters .... there is one constant with UM fans in general ..... always .... they think their team is worse than it is when they are losing (sky is falling) and better than it is when they are winning
