Four-star class of 2025 LB and Miami (FL) commit Elijah Melendez has confirmed to me he will be taking an unofficial, three-day visit to Michigan this upcoming Saturday-Monday (April 13-15).
In addition, Melendez will return to Ann Arbor a couple months later on June 7 for an official visit.
Melendez first visited Michigan for the OSU game this past November. The Wolverines were solidified in Melendez’ top five going into that visit, and the Wolverines made a great impression on the Kissimmee, Fla. native at that time.
Obviously, he ultimately committed to Miami, but Melendez has been keen on maintaining an open mind in his recruiting process even after committing to the Hurricanes.
Of course, Melendez’ last visit to AA came under the previous staff, so this upcoming weekend will be big for the new staff in terms of establishing a further connection with Melendez in hopes they can eventually flip him.
Certainly a positive sign that the new staff has been able to pick up some momentum on this recruitment and get Melendez on campus a couple of times.
