Michigan basketball received big news on Tuesday when they were among the top listed for 2023 five-star point Kylan Boswell, who announced the eight schools he'll focus on moving forward via Twitter, with the Wolverines being one-of-two Big Ten teams to make the cut.
Arizona, Illinois, Kansas, Oregon, Texas Tech, Southern Cal, and UNLV were also included in the list.
"I really like Michigan and their style of play," Boswell told The Maize and Blue Review. "They have a big history in basketball too. (Michigan was included in my top eight) because of my relationship with coach Juwan Howard and they have always been a school I have heavily considered."
The 6-foo-2, 180-pound, playmaker out of Chandler (Ariz.) Compass Prep is the No. 9 overall prospect in the country, No. 2 point guard, and No. 2 in the state of Arizona behind teammate Marquis Cook, according to Rivals.com.
"(My relationship with Juwan Howard) is really good, that is my guy," Boswell said. "He always calls me and our conversations are always more than basketball. He has really good connections, plus he has been where I am trying to make it. Lots of knowledge I could soak from him."
Boswell is currently setting up a date to take his first visit to Michigan soon in hopes to see the atmosphere in Ann Arbor on-and-off the court. He's already taken visits to both Arizona and Illinois with him expected to officially visit the Fighting Illini next month.
Boswell grew up in Champaign before moving to California for his first two years of high school.
