I have DTV with comcast internet right now. I pay around $170 for both with 25mb dowload internet speed. This comcast guy selling at a booth tells me he can get comparable TV and internet with a jump to 75mb download speeds for $99 a month.
I had comcast years ago and got rid of it because the DVR was so bad. It would freeze like when I was fast forwarding through commercials of a Michigan game, and then by the time I stop and reverse it, I would see what happened already. Crazy stuff like that. I got sick of it and was cool with DTV. But the price he offered seemed interesting so I am looking into it.
Any opinions on the X1 DVR vs. Genie? Has the technology really improved? What about HD? I have heard that DTV HD is supposed to be better or crisper or something. Any truth to that? DTV also has a 30 second fast forward button. Does comcast have something like that?
I don't mind paying extra for better quality, but if the two services are closer to being a wash, I will consider the switch. We only have one TV and don't watch much. Mostly Michigan and Chicago area sports. Occasional TV and some movies, but not a ton.
