DC area people Thinking about going to U2 in a couple of weeks

Was thinking of flying down there and going to concert and wondered what the best way to handle the logistics. Is staying in DC and taking the Metro to Fed EX field a reasonable thing to do? Safe etc?
Or what would you recommend?
