EJ's recruiting confidence article just now for some reason prompted me to go look at the Michigan Class of 2021 state rankings for football prospects.
Other than the thought of, "Wow, we could really end up cleaning up in a great year for instate talent," I was shocked by the fact that I didn't even recognize the name of the kid at the very top of the list, a borderline 5-star defensive tackle.
What's the story there? Did he just never reciprocate serious Michigan interest? Was there some non-football reason that the staff declined to recruit him hard? Do they think he's just way overrated from a football standpoint?
