what the hell is going on with college football anyway? More mid-season firings than in the NFL. Do mid-season terminations pay any type of dividend?

Exactly how many qualified coaches are out there -- Maryland, Illinois, Miami, Hawaii, Vir. Tech, S. Carolina, Minn. and probably a few I missed.

Minnesota is likely filled, from speculation today. They will elevate interim was the talk on twitter.

I see Durkin as a candidate for one of the openings. There will be others as coaches move from one job to the next. His success in the bowl game for Florida and his success with the U of M defense makes him a good candidate for head coaching positions. I also think the success of Narduzzi at Pitt shows a defensive coordinator can transition to a head coaching spot. I think he will be a hot prospect.

USC and Central Florida are a couple more

I think Durkin is much more of a head coach than Narduzzi. Pat was afraid to leave his security blanket, D'anthony.

Durkin will do great, and maybe he'll come back in 10-15 years after Harbaugh retires.
