I saw this on Twitter as a general topic and thought it was interesting for just Michigan. If you could choose one Michigan athlete to have an injury free career, who would you pick and why?
Here are a few that came to mind.
Here are a few that came to mind.
- Wilton Speight - It’s likely we beat Iowa and/or OSU in 2016 and make the playoff if Wilton is healthy at the end of 2016. And I think the 2017 is very much improved with him as the QB (along with another possible win vs OSU). The narrative of Jim Harbaugh is very different.
- Denard Robinson - Do we win more vs MSU with a healthy Denard? What about beating Nebraska in 2012 and likely winning the division and probably the conference? I'm not sure a healthy Denard saves RichRod, but I do wonder about whether or not it saves Brady Hoke. Another interesting sliding doors moment for Michigan football.
- Mike Hart - If memory serves, Hart was injured most of 2005, including for the OSU game. Beyond that, I’m quite certain we never lose to App State if he plays that whole game. And the domino effect from that loss basically helped shape the future of Michigan football as we know it.
- Mitch McGary - What might have been in 2014. I also wonder how his personal career might have been different.
- Devin Gardner - Similar to Denard in that some of the subsequent seasons might've changed the trajectory of both Brady Hoke and Michigan football.
