I've had a theory for a few years that the main reason KC keeps him around as the backup QB is bc he must be great with the X's and O's and getting Mahomes / the offense ready to go. KC is trying to win a SB every year and if Mahomes goes down there are better/cheaper/younger QB's out there that can probably play closer to his game than Henne can. If that's true, I imagine Henne would be a pretty good coach one day if he wants to do that. Especially with whatever he has picked up from smart offensive coaches like Andy Reid and Eric Bieniemi. Curious if anyone has heard anything about him eventually wanting to go into coaching when he's done playing? Maybe we can get Henne and Hart back together one day to finally beat OSU!!
Having said all that - he looked pretty sweet in that little bit he played in the playoffs, so maybe he's still got it!
