I know this has been discussed here before, and I'm well aware of Brandy's status and history with the program, but man... he is a TOUGH listen. I was forced to listen to about 20 minutes of game action on Saturday, and these were just a few gems:
* Speight overthrew Chris Perry
* personal pet-peeve: he kept using "out across" in plus territory. As in, "Khalid Hill is out across the 20 to the 18."
* gives general descriptions of plays before eventually elaborating on the down and distance. Like, "a nice run for Ty Isaac!"
* was seemingly confused by Air Force's running backs, sometimes calling one "the big back." This in particular shouldn't have been tough, given that their workhorse shares a name with a well-known terrorist.
* Constantly referred to Air Force as "The Air Force." For example, "Michigan will punt it to The Air Force," or "it'll be 2nd and 7 for The Air Force." Now, I know this seems minor, and that technically we were playing the United States Air Force Academy, but it was EVERY mention of the opposing team. I mean, the second week of December isn't the The Army-The Navy Game.
Generally have no problem with Jim (or Dierdorf) as color guys, but is there any chance we can get a real, seasoned, play-by-play man for Michigan Football?
