Bowl Betting...how the public is betting

Assuming that Vegas sets the lines initially to attract as close to 50-50 betting as possible....

The Orange Bowl line of Michigan -7 (FSU +7) seems to be a winner..

Currently 51% are taking FSU plus 7, while 49% are taking Michigan and giving up 7.


Ohio State is getting little respect......62% are taking Clemson +3

Alabama has 65% taking them -14.5 against Washington

Florida has 66% taking them -2.5 against Iowa

The -6 1/2 and -7 line for UM has been consistent since it was posted with betting about 50/50.

What do you think?

* EZ win for UM

* Hard fought battle with UM winning comfortably.

* Hard fought battle going right down to the wire with UM pulling out the win in the waning minutes.

OR

* FSU surprises all the pundits and pulls off an upset win.

* Hard fought battle with FSU in the lead much of the game and ultimately winning.

* Hard fought battle going right down to the last second and FSU pulls off the win with a FG.

Any other scenarios..........Go for it!

FSU will have trouble running against the #1 rush defense....If FSU doesn't rush successfully, the FSU passing game will not be as successful as it might be.

If FSU can get pressure on Speight (who is doing much better in practice after injury recovery) and slow the run, the Seminoles have a chance to keep it close.

Michigan is favored by about 6 in FPI (ESPN's measure)

Realtime RPI has Michigan winning by 4

Sagarin's Predictor has Michigan by 15

I think OSU's season ends vs. Clemson, they are fortunate indeed to be in the playoffs.
