Here are tonight's Blue Chips...

*** I checked in with 2022 Rivals100 Evanston (Ill.) Township linebacker Sebastian Cheeks, and he told me he is for sure making a visit to Michigan this weekend. Cheeks said he's still working on his hotel situation but is leaving the Chicago-area early in the morning tomorrow. Cheeks has been really high on Michigan since notching an offer earlier this year and is friends with 2021 U-M commit Tyler McLaurin, who will also be in town this weekend. Cheeks is also very high on Notre Dame early on, so it's big that he's visiting U-M.

*** Michigan recently made the Top 12 for 2022 Rivals250 Greer (S.C.) High tight end Jaleel Skinner. While the Wolverines already have a tight end commit for next cycle in Marlin Klein, the Wolverines would love to add another player at the position. Michigan has made Skinner a top priority in 2022, and both tight ends coach Sherrone Moore and head coach Jim Harbaugh have been in contact during the dead period. Clemson, Georgia and South Carolina are other favorites.

*** Michigan also recently made the Top 12 for 2022 Rivals250 Argyle (Texas) Liberty Christian safety Cristian Driver. The son of former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver, Cristian is not opposed to playing college football in the Midwest and has been wanting to make a visit to Michigan for quite some time. Oklahoma, Penn State and Texas are some heavy hitters in his recruitment, but he is very intrigued by Michigan, and if the Wolverines can get him to campus, they'll have a legit shot.

*** There were some offered 2022 targets that committed elsewhere in recent weeks. Three-star Canal Winchester (Ohio) High running back Stephan Byrd is staying close to home and committed to Cincinnati. Rivals100 offensive lineman Collin Sadler also came off the board and committed to Clemson. Rivals250 Strongsville (Ohio) High offensive lineman Blake Miller also committed to Clemson. Lastly, Michigan did not make the Top 13 for Rivals100 Philadelphia (Pa.) Imhotep Charter linebacker Enai White.
