Here are tonight's Blue Chips...
*** A couple of days ago, I mentioned that I didn't want to talk too much about the potential of four-star Ewa Beach (Hawaii) Campbell wide receiver Titus Mokiao-Atimalala playing defensive back at the next level. But I'm told he is becoming more and more open to the idea. Mokiao-Atimalala actually played both when I saw him live in Las Vegas this offseason, and I though he was excellent on both sides. I'm told Michigan really likes him as a safety. Notre Dame is considered the early leader, but there is time for Michigan to make a statement here.
*** One prospect that I didn't mention in my safety run down this week or in the Michigan-Notre Dame battles story from today was Justin Walters. Things aren't really serious right now, but Walters, who is committed to Notre Dame, is definitely someone to monitor. The three-star prospect from Bolingbrook (Ill.) High is a teammate of Michigan commit Tyler McLaurin, and there has been some dialogue during the dead period. I can't get into all the details here, but again, he's someone to monitor.
*** This is the least confident I've ever felt about Rivals100 Council Bluffs (Iowa) Lewis Central tight end Thomas Fidone. I think Michigan is really fading in this recruitment, which is fine since the Wolverines already hold a commitment from Rivals100 prospect Louis Hansen. But this is a guy the staff really wants onboard. We'll see if things change after the dead period once Michigan can work on getting him on campus.
*** National analyst Josh Helmholdt wrote that a summer decision could come for three-star 2021 East Lansing (Mich.) High wide receiver Andrel Anthony. Right now, I still feel the same. I don't think Michigan is moving in the right direction here. I feel like both Michigan State and Penn State are in better positions. Michigan is still in contact, but I wouldn't be too optimistic.
