Here are tonight's Blue Chips...

*** Michigan recently made the Top 10 for Portland (Ore.) Westview wide receiver Darrius Clemons. The Rivals250 prospect is one of U-M's top targets at the wide receiver position and is originally from the state of Michigan. In fact, Clemons played youth football with 2021 Michigan signee Andrel Anthony and still has a lot of family in the Lansing-area. Michigan offensive coordinator Josh Gattis has been heavily recruiting Clemons, and new assistant Ron Bellamy has also been involved. Still, Clemons is going to be tough to win over. Penn State is in a really good spot. His primary recruiter there is Taylor Stubblefield, who is from the Pacific Northwest and has done a great job relating to him. Oregon is pushing to keep him close to home, and USC has already locked in an official visit date.

*** Michigan also made the Top 10 for Rivals250 Baton Rouge (La.) Madison Prep defensive lineman Quency Wiggins. Look, pulling Wiggins from the south is going to be extremely difficult. LSU usually gets who it wants out of Baton Rouge and should be considered the leader, but a lot will depend on whether or not the Tigers push. Even if LSU doesn't, both Auburn and Ole Miss are recruiting Wiggins hard. Wiggins is in the process of setting up an official visit with Auburn and really likes Ole Miss. Wiggins is also intrigued by some schools out West, primarily USC, which is a lock to receive an OV. Again, it's an uphill battle for Michigan, but the Wolverines are still in the race.

*** Michigan is in the Top 11 for elite 2023 Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson defensive lineman Peter Woods, who projects as a Top 100 recruit nationally. The Wolverines are making a concerted effort to recruit the state of Alabama hard, and recruits are taking notice. Woods is a teammate of top 2023 defensive back Tony Mitchell, who named Michigan a top school last month. Targets in Alabama are really connecting well with analyst Aashon Larkins, who has ties in the south. With all that said, Woods is going to be an extremely tough land. Alabama, Clemson, LSU, Georgia, etc. all want him.

*** Let's say happy trails. Rivals100 Charlestown (Ind.) High offensive tackle Kiyaunta Goodwin did not name Michigan a finalist. He is likely to land at Kentucky. Rivals250 Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne offensive tackle Aamil Wagner did not name Michigan a top school despite a push from the Wolverines. I have a pick in for Ohio State. Rivals100 Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco offensive guard Earnest Green did not name Michigan in his Top 10. The Wolverines had a call with him this month but did not create movement.
