Here are tonight's Blue Chips...
*** I’m not trying to get your hopes up, but Michigan is making some progress with four-star 2020 Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) quarterback CJ Stroud. The Wolverines have had some really positive conversations with him as of late and have continued to make him their top overall priority at the position for this cycle. While it’s not completely locked in, Stroud is now looking to make an official visit on Dec. 7. I still think Ohio State is the team to beat, but he likes that Michigan doesn’t have a quarterback committed in the class.
*** Michigan is set to host several top targets for its game against Ohio State, including four-star 2021 Blairstown (N.J.) Blair Academy defensive end Aaron Armitage. The Rivals250 prospect was once considered an early Michigan lean, but schools like Notre Dame, Penn State and Ohio State have made lasting impressions. It is imperative for Michigan to make a statement on this visit as the Wolverines appear to be losing a bit of traction here.
*** Here is what Armitage had to say about his recent contact with Michigan: "To be honest with you, I don't talk to them that often. But I'm ready for my visit on the 30th. I've been talking to Coach (Shaun) Nua a little bit and Coach (Jim) Harbaugh texts me every once in a while. He wished me a happy birthday last week. That was pretty nice."
*** Here is what Armitage had to say about his upcoming visit to Michigan: "I'm looking forward to catching up with the coaches because it's been a while. I know when I went out for the BBQ over the summer, I got to spend the whole day with Coach Nua, which was amazing. I can't wait to get back out there and catch up with the coaches and see them play. I've never seen a game at Michigan, so that's going to be an amazing experience."
