Here are tonight's Blue Chips...

*** Michigan is still a top option for 2022 Rivals250 running back Emeka Megwa. The Fort Worth (Texas) Nolan Catholic keeps in contact with Michigan running backs coach Jay Harbaugh once every two weeks and wants to make a return trip to Ann Arbor after the dead period. Remember, Megwa visited Michigan for The Big House BBQ last summer. Megwa is planning to release a top schools list soon, and he told me Michigan would for sure make the cut. Megwa is high on regional schools like Oklahoma and Texas, but he's not afraid to leave home and the Big Ten may be a better fit for his playing style.

*** Michigan recently extended an offer to three-star 2022 Flower Mound (Texas) Coram Deo defensive lineman Jadon Scarlett. At 6-foot-2, 260 pounds, Scarlett has the look of a three-technique despite his defensive end listing. While the Wolverines have a commitment from Alex VanSumeren, it looks like Michigan is comfortable taking another true defensive tackle hence why they are after guys like Scarlett and IMG's Nick James. Scarlett said he had a positive first talk with U-M defensive line coach Shaun Nua and is looking forward to learning more about Michigan. He admitted that he doesn't know too much about the program right now.

*** Michigan is squarely in the mix for Rivals250 2022 Argyle (Texas) Liberty Christian defensive back Cristian Driver. We haven't talked a ton about Driver in the past, but he's a guy the Wolverines are in constant contact with. Driver has had recent conversations with both defensive coordinator Don Brown and safeties coach Bob Shoop and said Michigan is on his short list to get a visit soon after the dead period comes to an end. Driver is the son of former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver and likes the idea of potentially playing in Big Ten country. Oklahoma, Texas and Penn State are some other major players early on.

*** Liberty Christian is also home to rising 2023 defensive lineman Devin Strange, who recently notched an offer from Michigan. The Wolverines jumped in the mix extremely early here as his only other offer is from Southern Miss. Strange said he was taken aback when Michigan extended the scholarship and that he loved his first conversation with the aforementioned Nua. Strange hopes to make his way to Ann Arbor for a visit after the dead period.
