Here are tonight's Blue Chips...

*** Michigan made the Top 10 for four-star 2022 Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco defensive end Nate Burrell. Right now, schools out West like Cal, Oregon and Washington seem to be in a better spot for Burrell, who is still mapping out official visits, but the door is open for Michigan to make a move. The Wolverines offered way back in December of 2019 and while there was a lapse in contact, the Wolverines now have a tie in his recruitment through new Director of Player Personnel Courtney Morgan. Morgan, of course, is a Los Angeles native and recruited St. John Bosco hard during his stops out West. He also happens to know St. John Bosco assistant recruiting coordinator Terry Bullock extremely well. The two played against each other in high school and have kept in close contact as they've both gotten into the recruiting business. That friendship could help U-M get Burrell on campus.

*** Morgan is a big reason why Michigan recently put an offer on the table for three-star Lawndale (Calif.) Leuzinger defensive end Kevonte Henry. Morgan offered Henry during his time at Fresno State and knows those around Henry's recruitment extremely well. Henry is starting to rise with new offers coming in from Oregon and USC, but with Morgan leading the way here, it wouldn't be surprising to see Michigan receive an official visit. Right now, Henry is just getting some bigger offers, so there really aren't any clear-cut favorites. And again, the preexisting relationship Henry has with Morgan should give the Wolverines a boost.

*** Morgan isn't just going to help Michigan in Los Angeles. He also has experience recruiting the Bay Area pretty hard and will help the Wolverines in their pursuit of 2023 Concord (Calif.) De La Salle tight end Cooper Flanagan. I caught up with De La Salle defensive coordinator Nathan Kenion, who is also one of the best private trainers in NorCal, and he told me he absolutely loves Morgan. Here is what he had to say about Flanagan: "Coop is a big, physical body. As a sophomore right now, he's already 6-foot-5, 240 pounds. He already has the size to play at the next level and beyond at tight end. He's still learning the position in a lot of ways. He's still refining his route running but with his size and work ethic, he has a very high ceiling. He had been a lacrosse player up until recently. His brother got a scholarship for lacrosse, and his dad is a lacrosse coach. But he kept getting huge, so they decided to go the football route with him."

*** Michigan put an offer on the table for 2023 Rivals100 Tacoma (Wash.) Lincoln defensive end Jayden Wayne earlier tonight. Morgan's connection don't just start and end in California. Morgan is also well-respected by key figures in the Pacific Northwest. Wayne trains with Ford Sports Performance in Seattle, and that group has a strong tie with Morgan. I caught up with FSP recruiting coordinator Ryan Clary, who told me Wayne and others in the program really want to get out to Michigan for an unofficial visit this summer. Obviously, landing Wayne will be tough, but there is legitimate interest.
