I read the Post where JB is mentioned as an " average " recruiter , due to his " missing " out on so many kids . IF anyone read the USA Todays article on Wisconsins recruiting , and the record of Bo Ryan since he has been there , you would wonder how
without a ton of 4 and 5 Stars he has managed to have any success , and then you read the background of the kids he now has , and you shake your head .
I will admit I LOVE JB 's approach to EVERYTHING he does , from not going all out for the " 1 and done kid " , not going after the kind of kid that does NOT fit his system , to how he coaches the game , and when he speaks even he doesn't make it about himself .
I just hope he coaches our basketball program until he is 100 . I so agree with CB , on him , and I just so believe in JB's plan of getting kids that are coachable , may not be the " Top rated kid at his position ", can handle the ball , shoot from the perimeter , have a huge work ethic and maybe will be around AA a few years .One can just tell that he tells these kids , " I can make you into an NBA player IF you do what I ask " . I am thrilled as to what we will have between our Football and Basketball programs going forward , and for the 1st time in a long time think they both are on the right track . It may take a year or 2 in football , but I truly believe basketball will compete at the top of our conference , AND at the National Level for years to come .
