Michigan State

Friday Boston College 3, @Michigan State 2

In a very tightly played contest, Boston College barely edged Michigan State, 3-2.

After Boston College scored twice in the early going, Spartan Michael Ferrantino brought Michigan State within in one goal late in the first period. Boston College upped their lead to two goals, 3-1, in the second period. Matt DeBlouw pulled the Spartans to within striking distance midway through the third period, but the Golden Eagles hung on for the narrow victory.

"Kind of a frustrating game for us, because we just gave up goals too easy tonight, which isn't typical of our team," Michigan State coach Tom Anastos told USCHO. "To our credit, I thought we kept fighting back, in spite of spotting them the goals that we did. We just couldn't get over the hump to get that third one to tie it."

Minnesota

Friday Minnesota Duluth 3, @Minnesota 0
Saturday @Minnesota Duluth 2, Minnesota 1

Ranked first in the nation, Minnesota lost their offense, only scoring once in the weekend series with Minnesota Duluth.

Minnesota Duluth was full value for the Friday night win capitalizing on goals by Austin Farley, Dan Molenaar and Dominic Toninato.

On Saturday, Toninato score one of the Bulldogs two first period goals, Leon Bristedt finally hit for Minnesota's first goal of the weekend at 11:19 of the third period, but Minnesota Duluth held on for the weekend sweep.
